Brno
◊ On Friday I went on a day trip to the Moravian town of Brno, again with Nelson, Nathan, and Eric the German. It is about 2.5 hours away by train or bus. For some reason, we ended up taking a bus there and a train back. Brno is not exactly what one would call a famous town, but it does have a monestary on a hill and one of the most nortorious underground prisions in Europe. Also it is a magnet for the women of the region who flock here for the shoping district where clothing prices are extremly low. Other things to see are a catacoymb were you get to stare at lots and lots of mumified corpses, Josef Mendel's ('Mr. Inheritance Genitics' for all you non-biology majors) garden, and the museum about him.
A very nice car in front of a building where you go to stare at half-decomposed corpeses. There is a profound irony to this situtation, if only I could figure it out.
This girl is ballancing on a very weak railing at the top of a large cliff. Darwin would be proud of her.
Another really significatnt cathedral. I am getting really sick of significant cathederals. So sick, in fact, that I didn't even bother to take pictures of the rest that we saw.

Eric dearly loves his statues... Mendel was no exception to this rule.

Hey this is Jeff Franzen, just because i thought you'd find this entertaining, for extra credit in CIS 208, we had to write a haiku about C programming:
Pointers are not fun
They make programs really hard
killed my inner child
have fun

I am glad that my years of dedication to the art of programming poetry have finally paid off and have been accepted by the academic world as an intagral part of any well-rounded education in our field. This is truly a great day.
