Friggin Hot
◊ Well it is very warm in good ole Praha right now. On top of that it is very humid. In truth it smells and feels like home. For some odd reason I chose today to go hiking. Actually that was not my original intent. I was just headed to the outskirts of town near the airport to find a lake and check out some of the beaches to maybe come back later. We followed a herd of Czechs getting off the tram into this park. The crowd did not lead us to the lake, but instead to a swimming pool between a few cliffs. Topless beaches are not uncommon here, but it is still just a little surprising to wander into one. Since we had come so far down into this valley, it seemed like a waste to just walk back out the way we came in. We continued to walk deeper into the park to try and find the elusive lake. We went the totally wrong direction for that. Instead we climbed up onto the bluffs around this valley and then tried to guess which way the road was, getting it completely wrong. To make a long story short, we ended up by the airport. If you have never been to Prague before, that is a long way out there. We cut though a corn field and under the highway via a large culvert. We could have just grabbed the airport bus back, but I wanted to see how far we had come, so we followed the road for a very long way back to where we had started then too the bus the rest of the way back. I am exhausted and still hot after writing all of this. One thing I do miss about home: Air Conditioning.
