Clubbing

◊ Last night the locals took a large group of us downtown to a dance club. I was feeling pretty down but I fighured that I am only going to be here 5 moths so I should not allow myself time to sulk over being robbed. I figured that, at worst, I would have to spend the night listing to Hip-Hop and watch people grind. Boy was I wrong. Apparently the Czechs are all still suck on disco and the early 80's. I am home at last.
◊ Of course the only affordable drink that wasn't hard liquor was Pilsner beer. Lots and lots of Pilsner. Still I was hesitant to dance. I have some pretty strong inhibitions. And then I discovered Absynth. Wowie. Shazam. A group of guys felt bad that since I had been robbed my budget for the night was pretty much eaten up by the cover charge and a couple of beers. So they got together and ordered a round of the green stuff. It tasted vaguly like tasty licquirice, but it remains well out of my price range even if I were not broke right now. Anyways, somehow it gave me the ablilty to dance. Or at least made me think that I coud dance I am not entirely certain which it was.
◊ Eventually I had to choose wether to call it an early night and head home or stay out and ...? Well, I did not feel like taking the chance of waking up in a Czech prison so I decided to go home while I was still completly in controll of my actions and with intact memories of the night. I am just not used to that kind of lifestyle, and I'm not sure if I ever could be.
